Cold Arctic Air Blast Event Saturday Night through Wednesday:

✓ Strong arctic cold front to arrive over northern counties Saturday evening, all areas by early

Sunday morning

✓ Much colder Sunday morning through Wednesday morning

▪ Hard freezes likely Sunday through Tuesday nights.

▪ Temperatures may remain below freezing for over 3 days over the Hill Country and

areas near and to the east of the Austin Metro area.

▪ Bitterly cold wind chill values and risk for hypothermia and frostbite for those not taking

proper precautions Sunday Morning – Wednesday morning.

✓ 20-40% chance of light freezing rain now possible from Sunday evening through midday

Monday across the eastern 2/3 of South Central Texas.

▪ Minor ice accumulations, mainly on elevated bridges and surfaces would be the main

threat should freezing rain occur.

✓ Take precautions now to protect exposed pipes that could burst from a hard freeze, and

ensure proper shelter and protection is provided for people, pets, and vulnerable vegetation.
