WATER MISSION PLUMBERS PARTNER WITH AUSTIN DISASTER RELIEF NETWORK TO PROVIDE FREE SERVICES TO CENTRAL TEXAS RESIDENTS IMPACTED BY WINTER STORM

Austin, Texas, February 25, 2021 – Water Mission, a nonprofit Christian engineering organization, is collaborating with Austin Disaster Relief Network and Plumbers Without Borders to respond to the huge number of Central Texas residents with burst pipes and extensive water damage from Winter Storm Uri. The three organizations will collaborate to mobilize skilled volunteer labor and plumbing-related materials and supplies, getting safe water flowing in homes for the most vulnerable residents, including the elderly, disabled, uninsured, and underinsured.

Homeowners who need plumbing repairs as a result of last week’s frigid temperatures can call the Crisis Cleanup Hotline at 1-800-329-8052 to request assistance.

“We’re hearing from hundreds of homeowners who need their home mucked out because their pipes burst and need to be repaired. These homeowners want clean water running in their homes again,” said ADRN Executive Director Daniel Geraci. “The huge need means many residents could wait weeks for the professional plumbing services they need. But Water Mission’s partnership with the Crisis Cleanup Hotline will get these homeowners back into safe and clean homes much faster. We’re so grateful for the opportunity to work with this amazing organization.”

Residents in Bastrop, Hays, Travis and Williamson counties can call the “Crisis Cleanup” toll free number at 1-800-329-8052 requesting assistance to clean up their home and/or debris as well as repairing plumbing damage.

The “Crisis Cleanup” line will operate Monday-Saturday, 9 am – 8 pm, and Sunday, 1 pm – 6 pm. Homeowners can register for assistance through the “Crisis Cleanup” number until Friday, March 5. Volunteer crews have already begun deploying from ADRN network churches and other organizations to begin the cleanup effort.
